Q&A with Pivotal Fitness Trainer, Lois Smith
Meet Lois Smith! Lois is a group fitness coordinator, personal trainer, and group instructor extraordinaire at our Pivotal Fitness Columbia, SC location. She is NASM and ACE certified and specializes in functional fitness and weight training. She also likes to run and bike for fun.
1.) What is your favorite exercise that you use most frequently to train your clients, and why?
One-legged deadlifts with an overhead press are one of my favorite moves because you use strength, balance, and flexibility
2.) How do you stay motivated throughout the year to stick to your fitness routine?
I set my intention each day, and plan my workouts as part of my weekly calendar like I would any appointment.
3.) What tip would you give to people that are struggling to stay on track
Find someone to be accountable to- a trainer, a friend, etc Plan your meals ahead of time and don’t punish yourself if you fall off the pat- just get right back in there and give it your best effort.
4.) What is your favorite inspirational quote or mantra?
Don’t focus on being skinny. If you clean up your diet and exercise regularly, your weight will take care of itself. Lois Mantra
